Types of Auctions

PENNY AUCTIONS
A penny auction starts off at $0, every bid increases the item price by 1 penny. The last bidder when the clock runs out of time wins the item for the current price. See our how it works page for more details.

MYSTERY AUCTIONS
A mystery auction is one that hides the current price of the auction from a user that is not the current bidder. The price starts off at the suggested retail price of the product. Every bid reduces the price by a specified amount, and reveals the current price only to the current bidder. The current bidder then has the option of buying the product for the newly reduced price. The auction ends when the bidder buys the item at the discounted price or is the bidder that brings the item down to $0.

Tip: You can bid more than once on mystery auctions even if you are the current bidder! You do not need to wait for another user to bid before placing another bid.
